ROLE
– Conduct comprehensive compliance risk assessments with an emphasis on the systematic evaluation of Business Integrity screening and public records research.
– Perform in-depth online research, validate sources, and analyse risks using specialised compliance databases and open-source information.
– Maintain meticulous documentation of investigative processes, ensuring accurate and secure work space.
– Evaluate third-party risks such as bribery, corruption, sanctions, and money laundering by analysing areas of vulnerability and the effectiveness of controls.
– Execute thorough due diligence for suppliers, partners, clients, and recipients of gifts, hospitality, donations, or sponsorships.
– Review sanctions lists and adverse media, summarise findings, and clearly differentiate between material risks and false positives.
– Proactively escalate red flags or suspected non-compliance in accordance with internal protocols, and provide pertinent feedback to stakeholders to enable informed business decisions.
– Offer primary support to business users regarding compliance tools and policy interpretation.
– Contribute to the development and delivery of anti-bribery and anti-corruption training initiatives.
– Assist in monitoring red flags and promoting compliance awareness throughout the organisation.
– Adhere rigorously to all information security standards, including data classification, confidentiality, and encryption requirements.
– Support compliance projects through research, data analysis, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor’s degree; law degree preferred or equivalent legal background.
– Up to two years in compliance, due diligence, legal, risk, or related fields.
– Excellent ability to conduct research and a keen investigative approach.
– Organised, responsible, diligent, proactive, and eager to learn.
– Demonstrable interest in anti-corruption and business integrity.
