ROLE
– Perform testing, validation, and characterization of Li-ion and Na-ion battery packs
– Execute BMS functional testing, including protection, alarms, thermal control, cell balancing, and SOC/SOH accuracy performance
– Conduct end-to-end validation of battery packs as per internal and customer test plans
– Lead functional validation of ESS/BESS systems including PCS interface, EMS communication, and safety interlocks
– Participate in container-level integration: HVAC, fire suppression, isolation monitoring, HV distribution, and system controls
– Support FAT/SAT for energy storage systems and site-level commissioning
– Configure and validate communication between BMS and EMS/Supervisory Controllers using: CAN, Modbus RTU/TCP, Proprietary BMS communication protocols
– Debug communication issues, message mapping, and DBC handling
– Work with HV Junction Boxes, pre-charge circuits, contactors, fuses, HVIL, and safety relays
– Validate insulation resistance, grounding architecture, and safety logic implementation
– Support system integration with PCS/inverters and third-party equipment
– Prepare detailed test reports, failure analysis documents, and validation summaries
– Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, and other safety standards relevant to battery systems
– Support engineering change management, BOM reviews, and design validation cycles
– Provide technical support to application engineering, field deployment, and customer teams
– Collaborate with design, firmware, and testing teams to close validation gaps
REQUIREMENTS
– Strong knowledge of Lithium-ion & Sodium-ion chemistry, battery behavior, and safety mechanisms
– Experience on ESS/BESS integration, containerization, HVAC systems, safety systems
– Strong command over CAN, Modbus, DBC decoding, and protocol debugging
– Familiarity with EMS/PCS interfaces is a plus
– B Tech/BE in Electrical/Electronic engineering or comparable study paths
– 3-5 years of experience
