BD – BESS Manager – Residential & Micro/Small C&I

ROLE
– Build deep B2B partnerships with national / regional Solar EPC players with a strong presence in residential and small C&I space
– Develop strong partnerships with leading residential solar installers
– Drive adoption of BESS as a standard add-on to rooftop solar
– Distribution and OEM/ODM partnerships with large, established consumer electrical or electronics players
– Partner with leading solar brands to offer white-label / ODM BESS solutions
– Develop scalable channel-led business models through these brands
– Build and scale partnerships with hybrid inverter distributors
– Target and build and scale relationships with Distributors of Solis, Deye, Growatt, GoodWe, Sungrow etc
– Position Cygni’s BESS solutions as a preferred bundled offering within their ecosystem
– Build relationships with global and domestic hybrid inverter ODMs
– Enable integration and co-development of storage-ready solutions
– Own full P&L responsibility for the residential and Micro/Small C&I segment
– Drive: Revenue growth, Gross margins and cost optimization, Channel profitability and scale
– Define and execute pricing, positioning, and channel strategy
– Identify high-potential geographies and customer segments
– Work closely with engineering and product teams to: Customize solutions for residential and small C&I use cases
– Integrate with hybrid inverter ecosystems
– Improve installation simplicity and user experience
– Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and drive Cygni’s participation in relevant forums
– Collaborate to create marketing strategies that resonate with the target audience
– Actively manage the Sales team including pipeline management, lead prioritization through a structured CRM
– Coaching and mentoring of Sales team to improve conversion and quota achievement

REQUIREMENTS
– MBA or Masters in Engineering is a plus
– 10 to 15 years of proven experience of successfully delivering on sales targets
– Basic understanding of Lithium Ion battery in various applications is a plus
– Demonstrable experience of scaling a products business
– Strong network across solar distributors, EPCs, and installer ecosystem
– Ability to build and scale channel-driven businesses
– Understanding of hybrid inverter + storage integration
– High ownership mindset with P&L orientation
– Strong commercial acumen and execution focus
– Ability to work in a fast-scaling, entrepreneurial environment
– Appetite for relatively deep technical understanding of products
– Strong resourcefulness to work within constraints and still deliver
– Excellent written and oral communication
– Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
