ROLE
– Contribute to data science-driven product development, including climate risk assessment products.
– Develop and maintain custom data models and algorithms for large geospatial and climate datasets.
– Improve existing models and ensure regular data updates.
– Assess the accuracy and effectiveness of new data sources and data-gathering techniques.
– Analyze international regulatory requirements, public datasets, and scenario data to identify opportunities for new climate-related sustainable finance products.
– Collaborate with other ESG and climate-risk product teams and maintain awareness of the competitive landscape.
– Act as a subject matter expert on ESG product offerings, supporting colleagues and clients through day-to-day communications, operations, and specialist inquiries.

REQUIREMENTS
– Degree in atmospheric or physical sciences, meteorology, hydrology, environmental science, or a related field.
– 2–4 years of experience as a climate specialist, geospatial data analyst, environmental engineer, or similar role, with expertise in climate data analysis.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with prior research experience.
– Familiarity with climate data sources, climate models and initiatives, e.g. CMIP5 and CMIP6.
– Proficiency in data science, geospatial data analysis and statistical analysis.
– Strong programming skills in Python and good working knowledge of UNIX shell.
– Comfortable working with large geospatial datasets and GIS tools.
– Experience with version control systems and containerization tools.
– Familiarity with cloud computing environments.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across locations and time zones.
– Detail-oriented and proactive in problem-solving within a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent oral and written command of English.
– Interest in ESG, responsible investment, and sustainability is desirable.
– Previous experience in ESG and/or sustainable climate finance is a plus.
– Experience publishing climate or hazard science papers or posts is beneficial.
