Deputy Manager – Business Development & Contract Management
ROLE
– Identify and develop new business opportunities across utilities, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
– Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, DISCOMs, government agencies, OEMs, and partners.
– Lead end-to-end business development activities including lead generation, pre-sale discussions, and client presentations.
– Manage preparation and submission of RFP/RFQ/RFI responses, including technical coordination and commercial structuring.
– Develop, review, and negotiate contracts, MoUs, NDAs, SLAs, and other commercial agreements.
– Ensure contracts are aligned with company policies, risk appetite, and financial objectives.
– Coordinate with legal, finance, and project teams for contract finalisation and approvals.
– Track contractual obligations, milestones, deliverables, and payment terms throughout the project lifecycle.
– Identify contractual risks and deviations and propose mitigation strategies.
– Support project teams during execution by providing contractual clarifications and change management support.
– Manage change orders, scope variations, and commercial amendments in line with contract terms.
– Monitor compliance with contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
– Maintain contract documentation, correspondence, and records in an organized and accessible manner.
– Provide regular updates to management on business pipeline, contract status, risks, and opportunities.
– Support pricing strategy, cost estimation, and commercial viability assessments for new opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS
– Strong exposure to infrastructure, utility, energy, or technology-driven projects.
– Experience in handling government and public sector tenders is highly desirable.
– Sound understanding of commercial terms, contract law basics, and risk management.
– Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
– Proficiency in MS Office and contract / proposal management tools.
– Experience in AMISP / Smart Metering / EV Infrastructure / BESS / Energy projects.
– Strong analytical and financial evaluation skills.
– Ability to manage multiple bids and contracts simultaneously under tight timelines.
– Attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach.
– Ability to work cross-functionally and handle complex stakeholder environments.
– Strong problem-solving skills and commercial acumen
