ROLE
– Check fire pump rooms every day to make sure everything’s working
– Monitor smoke ventilation and pressurization systems
– Maintain fire safety equipment
– Inspect hydrant and sprinkler valves regularly
– Run evacuation drills so everyone knows what to do in emergencies
– Handle hot work permits when contractors need to do welding or similar work
– Investigate incidents that happen and figure out what went wrong
– Make sure we’re following all EHS policies
– Do risk assessments to spot potential problems
– Stay on top of government regulations
– Manage our British Safety Council Five Star Audit
– Manage traffic flow on the property
– Train security guards on safety procedures
– Make sure safety signs are where they need to be
– Keep all the paperwork and records up to date
– Check that emergency equipment is ready to go
– Teach employees about safety
– Brief contractors before they start work
– Plan safety awareness campaigns
– Work with different teams to keep everyone informed
REQUIREMENTS
– A degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, EHS, or Safety
– At least 8 years working in facilities, property management, hospitality, or construction
– Know your way around property management
– Can solve EHS problems as they come up
– Good at explaining things, both talking and writing
– Handle conflicts when they arise
– Care about giving people good service
– Comfortable training staff
