Electrical DC Design Engineer || Solar Projects

ROLE
– Lead complete DC design including module stringing, SCB configuration, DC cabling, and network architecture.
– Optimize DC BoS for cost efficiency, high performance, and minimal technical losses.
– Perform string sizing based on thermal conditions, inverter characteristics, site parameters, and module specifications.
– Finalize array layouts, module mounting schemes, routing of trenches/cables, and DC interconnections.
– Apply advanced optimization techniques to improve energy yield and reduce lifecycle costs.
– Prepare cable routing layouts, trench details, and DC cable sizing calculations.
– Review and approve detailed engineering documents such as SLDs, GAs, string layouts, cable schedules, and cross-sections.
– Prepare design calculation sheets, DC loss analysis reports, and BoS optimization documents.
– Ensure adherence to IEC, IS, CEA, MNRE, and Avaada’s internal quality standards.
– Coordinate with civil, SCADA, AC engineering, and PM teams for integrated design solutions.
– Support procurement through technical specifications and vendor evaluations for modules, SCBs, cables, connectors, etc.
– Provide engineering support and timely clarifications to site teams during execution.
– Visit project sites for issue resolution, constructability checks, and design validation.
– Lead, guide, and mentor a team of DC design engineers and draftsmen.
– Establish workflows, templates, guidelines, and quality processes for DC engineering.
– Manage design deliverables, review cycles, and inter-department interfaces.
– Ensure design compliance with safety norms, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
– Drive innovation through new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance plant performance and reduce costs.

REQUIREMENTS
– B.E./B. Tech or M.E./M. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
– Minimum 10-25 years in solar PV DC engineering with exposure to both fixed-tilt and tracker systems.
– Proficiency in AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVsyst, PVcase, ETAP/Power Factory, and engineering calculators.
– At least 5 years in a managerial or lead engineering role.
– Willingness to travel for site visits and technical issue resolution.
