ROLE
– Own end-to-end last mile delivery from pick-ups to doorstep delivery across rural geographies
– Drive Express delivery commitments across the network; identify and eliminate bottlenecks in real time
– Manage returns, hold packages and on-ground escalations with speed and ownership
– Lead delivery partner expansion — onboarding, activation, performance management across multiple states
– Own the Ops P&L for last mile — drive cost-per-delivery optimisation without compromising service quality
– Identify cost levers across mid-mile and last mile — route planning, incentive redesign and Vendor Negotiations
– Monitor high-value cash collections, transit package pendency and non-serviceable area reduction with real-time controls
– Report and act on key metrics -delivery efficiency, return rate, complaint rate, cost vs budget, and cash risk
– Lead a distributed team of managers and supervisors across states — build accountability, review rhythms, and performance culture
– Manage a large network of delivery agents and last mile partners — ensure productivity, discipline, and SLA adherence
– Coach and develop the next layer of ops leaders within the team
– Serve as the Single SPOC for last mile escalations — coordinate with Sales, Finance, Online, and Fulfilment teams
– Drive collaborative projects across functions to streamline operations, reduce friction, and scale delivery coverage
– Represent Last Mile Ops in leadership reviews with structured, data-backed narratives and clear recommendations
– Lead SOP development and process standardisation across the delivery network
– Build and maintain MIS dashboards and performance trackers to drive data-led decisions at every level
– Drive tech adoption for real-time tracking, partner management, and operational reporting
REQUIREMENTS
– 8-10 years in last mile or mid-mile logistics with at least 3 years in a mid-level leadership role managing multi-state operations
– Strong exposure to Tier 2, Tier 3 and rural delivery markets — understanding of ground-level complexity and solutions
– Solid understanding of Ops P&L, cost-to-serve, and efficiency metrics in a logistics context
– Proven problem solver — identifies root causes, builds the fix, and drives it to closure without supervision
– Strong data orientation — comfortable with numbers, MIS, and converting data insights into operational action
– Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and drive outcomes across teams without formal authority
– Experience in building SOPs, improving processes, and leading system adoption on the ground
– Background in a core logistics, quick commerce, or Agri-distribution company with rural delivery exposure
– Experience managing COD-heavy networks with high cash flow, risk controls, and daily collections oversight
– Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint — able to independently build MIS reports and business presentations
– Strong interpersonal and people management skills — builds trust with ground teams and senior stakeholders alike
– Exposure to direct-to-farmer, agri-commerce, or rural last mile models is a distinct advantage
