ROLE
– Support safety case development during the design, operation, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities
– Produce all nuclear safety documentation as part of the Site Licence Conditions
– Conduct hazard/fault identification studies, e.g. HAZOP, HAZAN, FMEA, etc.
– Develop qualitative and quantitative safety arguments
– Perform deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments
– Conduct engineering substantiation
– Create fault and protection schedules
– Perform hazard categorisation and assessment
– Author, manage, develop, and produce safety cases
– Develop engineering change safety justifications
– Assist in the production of bids and proposals
– Implement and contribute to safety initiatives
– Work within teams that liaise with operators, designers, and clients, building a strong relationship with them

REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a relevant subject
– Technical practitioner able to demonstrate good engineering judgement and with extensive experience in using fundamental engineering skills
– Record of delivering technically challenging projects
– Experience in safety case production and/or hazard analysis
– Ability to produce and review/correct high-quality technical reports
– Motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality
– Awareness of their own technical limitations and using the help and support of others to deliver
– Sound commercial acumen
– Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
