ROLE
– Lead and manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple locations/entities
– Ensure accurate and timely disbursement of salaries, bonuses, reimbursements, and final settlements
– Validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave records, incentives, and deductions
– Oversee payroll accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
– Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and statutory regulations
– Manage timely filing of statutory returns and remittances
– Stay updated on changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
– Liaise with government authorities and external consultants when required
– Lead internal and external payroll and compliance audits
– Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all payroll transactions
– Identify risks and implement controls to strengthen compliance frameworks
– Manage and mentor payroll and compliance team members
– Drive performance, capability building, and succession planning within the team
– Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and compliance processes
– Drive automation initiatives and implementation of payroll systems/HRMS tools
– Ensure data integrity and system accuracy
– Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and IT teams for seamless operations
– Address employee queries related to payroll, taxation, and compliance
– Provide insights and reports to senior leadership for decision-making
REQUIREMENTS
– Master’s degree in Finance, HR, Commerce, or related field
– Relevant certification preferred
– 10–15 years of experience in payroll and statutory compliance
– Proven experience in managing large-scale payroll operations
– Strong exposure to Indian labor laws and tax regulations
– Deep knowledge of payroll systems and HRMS platforms
– Strong understanding of statutory compliance and labor legislation
– High attention to detail and accuracy
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
– Strong leadership and team management abilities
– Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
