ROLE
– Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for energy meters / electronic products.
– Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
– Handle plastic part design considering DFM/DFA principles.
– Address and resolve mould design and tooling-related issues in coordination with mould vendors.
– Support manufacturing during tool trials, pilot runs, and mass production.
– Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and stack-up analysis.
– Prepare and maintain BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation.
– Perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
– Ensure compliance with industry standards and company design guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
– Good understanding of plastic injection moulding processes.
– Experience in product design and development lifecycle.
– Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and fits.
– Hands-on experience with DFMEA, DFM, DFA concepts.
– Ability to interact with tool makers and vendors
– Exposure to prototype development and validation testing.
– Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
– Strong communication and documentation skills.
– B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
