ROLE
– Design and develop protection schemes for power transmission and distribution systems
– Ensure proper setting of protection relays, fault detection, and coordination with system protection plans
– Perform relay coordination and settings for various protection schemes, including overcurrent, differential, distance, and transformer protection
– Review and adjust relay settings to optimize system protection and minimize system disruptions
– Analyze system faults, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
– Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to resolve protection-related issues
– Conduct protection relay testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
– Verify the performance of protection systems, ensuring accurate settings and reliable operation
– Prepare detailed reports for protection system studies, relay settings, and fault analysis
– Maintain accurate records of protection schemes, relay settings, and any modifications made

REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
– 5-10 years of experience in power system protection, relay coordination, and fault analysis
– Strong knowledge of protection schemes, relay settings, fault analysis, and control systems
– Familiarity with SCADA systems
– Relevant certifications such as in protection systems or safety standards
