Senior Associate – Industrial Decarbonization
ROLE
– Provide technical and strategic inputs to sub-national governments across the Global South in the industrial sector.
– Support the design and implementation of industrial decarbonization adoption programs, including pilots and scale-up initiatives, from a government lens, while leveraging exposure to private sector functioning and market realities.
– Conduct policy research and analysis related to industrial decarbonization pathways, clean technologies, energy efficiency, and low-carbon solutions, particularly for MSMEs.
– Develop concept notes, technical frameworks, and advisory inputs for government and industry stakeholders, with a focus on identifying pathways to scale key initiatives related to schemes for MSMEs and similar programs.
– Support the design and assessment of policies and programs related to DISCOM reforms, renewable energy deployment, and grid integration relevant to industrial decarbonization.
– Identify and analyse regulatory, financial, and market barriers to adoption of clean energy and decarbonization solutions.
– Lead or support stakeholder consultations with state government officials, public sector entities, industry associations, subject matter experts, and development partners.
– Prepare high-quality policy briefs, research reports, technical notes, presentations, and knowledge products.
– Assist in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of ongoing projects, pilots, and policy interventions.
– Track national and international developments in climate policy, energy transition, and industrial decarbonization to inform program strategy and design.
REQUIREMENTS
– Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Industrial Decarbonization, public policy, energy, climate change, DISCOM, DRE, or related domains.
– Experience working with or advising state governments, public sector institutions, or multilateral/development organizations is highly desirable.
– Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders, including state government officials, public sector agencies, subject matter experts, consultants, and industry representatives.
– Strong quantitative and qualitative skills for policy analysis and development of policy frameworks.
– Demonstrated ability to identify sector needs and lead research, analysis, and project activities.
– Proven strategic and critical thinking skills, including the ability to develop new work areas and lead collaborations across stakeholders.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on high-quality policy writing.
– Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and networking skills.
– Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple workstreams, teams, and timelines.
– Experience in working with and managing consultants and subcontractors.
– Strong visualisation and presentation skills, including proficiency with MS PowerPoint and related tools.
