Senior Instrumentation Engineer – UK Water

ROLE
– Lead the design phases for Instrumentation Control Automation systems, adhering to international standards
– Design & Engineering: Sound knowledge of ICA design, motor control systems, system architecture, fieldbus/communication networks, P&ID’s, ATEX installation practice, functional safety
– Development of Design Basis, specifications, P & ID’s, System/Network Architecture, Fieldbus/communication networks, Control philosophy, Functional Design Specifications
– Review and provide constructive comment on various ICA documentation
– Understand requirements in relation to installations relating to DSEAR and ICA equipment in explosive atmospheres
– Conduct instrument sizing calculations
– Review vendor drawings for instrumentation systems
– Use practical knowledge to design Equipment Layouts and trench/tray layouts
– Support global teams in delivering water/wastewater projects
– Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design solutions
– Prepare and review of specifications, data sheets and technical documentation
– Provide technical direction in project delivery
– Maintain compliance with Business Management System and Health & Safety standards
– Offer alternative solutions and guide the juniors technical decision-making processes
– Mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and effective task delegation
– Manage technical client relationships and support project pursuits
– Align with digital strategies and contribute to digital transformation initiatives

REQUIREMENTS
– B.E./ M.E. / M. Tech from a recognized University
– 10 – 12 years’ experience
– Relevant experience in ICA design in a consultancy organisation for Water Sector
– Familiar with British and other International standards and practices
– Registered or accredited professional, preferably CEng/IEng or chartered/ incorporated member of similar standing relevant professional organization or pursuing to achieve
– Strong, self-motivated and assertive person capable of working under pressure
– Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
– Flexible to adopt to new work /challenge work as per business requirement
– Experience with AutoCAD, AutoDesk, Plant 3D & Revit is advantageous
– Basic knowledge of BIM/ACC tools
– Good knowledge of Microsoft office
