ROLE
– Serve as on-site health & safety consultant for technology sector clients.
– Assess and advise on environmental compliances and permitting for technology and data center projects.
– Conduct site due diligences for technology and data center clients.
– Deliver health and safety services, including incident and near-miss management and stop‑work interventions.
– Ensure construction‑phase health and safety regulatory and legal requirements are understood, control programs are implemented, and compliance is monitored.
– Perform regular inspection routines on projects to promote safe behaviors, increase safety awareness, and improve conditions for all worker archetypes.
– Provide feedback on overall health and safety performance to regional leadership.
– Build and sustain long‑term relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted safety advisor.
– Translate complex technical safety challenges into actionable insights for senior leadership.
– Collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver integrated EHS solutions with safety at the core.
– Mentor and coach junior consultants to develop internal safety capability, technical acumen, and client‑facing skills.
– Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance within project teams.
– Lead internal knowledge‑sharing initiatives to drive thought leadership in safety and health.
– Identify and pursue opportunities for safety‑related consulting services in manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, and chemicals sectors.
– Support key account planning, proposal development, and pitch presentations with a strong safety value proposition.
– Represent ERM in industry forums, webinars, and client events as a subject matter expert on occupational safety and risk management.

REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental, Safety, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
– Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience in safety consulting, EHS audits, risk assessments, site due diligence, permitting, and construction safety for technology clients and data centres.
– Demonstrated expertise in hazard recognition, incident management, on‑site construction health and safety planning, job hazard analysis, EHS audits, site due diligence, and permitting and environmental regulations.
– Strong communication skills, proactive learning ability, and effective teamwork.
– Mandatory certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, IOSH, or equivalent; CSP/CMIOSH or similar global credentials are a strong advantage.
– Proven exposure to data centre and technology industry guidelines and experience working with international clients.

ERM India seeking a motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to support the implementation and monitoring of EHS programs across projects and operations as well as Construction for technology clients and data centers. You will play a pivotal role in shaping safety strategies delivering complex projects and driving business growth. Key Responsibilities

1. EHS Leadership & Project Delivery

On-site health & safety consultant for technology sector clients

Assessment and advisory related to environmental compliances and permitting for tech and DCs

Undertake site due diligences as applicable for tech and DC clients

Delivery of Health and Safety services and Incident and near-miss management including stop-work intervention.

For construction phase confirm that Health and Safety regulatory and legal requirements are understood control programs are in place and that compliance is monitored.

Provide regular inspection routines to projects to promote safe behaviors and conditions and to increase safety awareness across all worker archetypes on site.

Provide feedback on overall health and safety performance to regional leadership.

Other Health and Safety related tasks as required.

Work Location: Hyderabad/Mumbai/Pune

2. Client Engagement & Relationship Management

Build and sustain long-term relationships with key clients becoming a trusted safety advisor.

Translate complex technical safety challenges into impactful insights for senior leadership demonstrating value.

Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver integrated EHS solutions with safety at the core.

3. Team Leadership & Capability Building

Mentor and coach junior consultants to build internal safety capability technical acumen and client-facing skills.

Foster a culture of safety accountability and high performance within project teams.

Lead internal knowledge-sharing initiatives to drive thought leadership in safety and health.

For Principal Consultant: Lead large diverse teams across geographies and drive organizational thought leadership.

4. Business Development & Market Growth

Identify and pursue opportunities for safety-related consulting services particularly in sectors such as manufacturing energy infrastructure and chemicals.

Support key account planning proposal development and pitch presentations with a strong safety value proposition.

Represent ERM in industry forums webinars and client events as a subject matter expert on occupational safety and risk management.

For Principal Consultant: Spearhead strategic growth initiatives and secure high-value opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Safety Chemical Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.

Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in safety consulting EHS audits risk assessments site due diligence and permitting and construction safety for technology clients and data centres (preferred)

Be passionate about safety performance improvement and have work experience with the following topics:

Hazard recognition

Incident management

On-site construction health and safety planning

Job hazard analysis

EHS audits

Site due diligence

Permitting and environmental regulations

Proactive and fast learner excellent communication skills and good team worker
