ROLE
– Lead EHS activities at the Manesar site, providing leadership and technical guidance.
– Manage site EHS programs, including routine risk assessments, corrective measures, and anticipating program needs.
– Maintain and drive continuous improvement of site EHS procedures and systems in line with local regulations and company requirements.
– Influence site staff to ensure site‑wide EHS compliance and promote personal ownership and accountability.
– Ensure facility EHS compliance with local, national, and corporate standards and guidelines.
– Develop, implement, and maintain site‑specific EHS programs, recognizing and reporting potential non‑conformities with appropriate corrective actions.
– Interact and communicate with corporate EHS, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D teams.
– Develop and deliver site‑specific EHS training to meet regulatory and best‑practice requirements.
– Support investigations to determine root causes of incidents, spills, accidents, near misses, and injuries to prevent recurrence.
– Coordinate proper handling and disposal of facility waste materials.
– Advise management on upcoming EHS regulations.
– Implement and track EHS initiatives aligned with global expectations and requirements.
– Maintain local and corporate EHS reports, licenses, permits, and performance indicators.

REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, safety, chemistry, microbiology, or related field.
– Experience supporting multiple projects and working with EHS regulatory agencies and corporate support functions.
– Documented knowledge of local and national EHS laws and regulatory frameworks.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
– High ethical standards and role‑model compliance integrity.
– Strong analytical and logical problem‑solving abilities.
– Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to support business needs.
– Fluency in written and spoken English.
– Lean/Six Sigma experience – desirable.
– Ability to develop strategy and execute tactically; strong judgment and vision.
– Robust skills in interpreting and applying EHS regulatory frameworks such as EU, OSHA, ISO, NFPA.
– Strong leadership and change‑execution capabilities.
– Experience with corrective action management, EHS inspections and auditing, EHS compliance, and EHS management systems.
– Proven expertise in EHS program management, incident investigations, industrial hygiene, and risk assessment.
– Financial management skills related to EHS initiatives.
– Approximately 8 years of EHS experience in a multinational company – desirable.
– Health and Safety Diploma – desirable.

Senior Specialist Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

We are looking for an experienced Health Safety and Environmental engineer to lead the EHS activities at our Manesar Site in Haryana Gurgaon India. This role provides leadership and technical guidance in order to develop implement maintain and continuously improve of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management System in order to guarantee full compliance with legal requirements and our corporate EHS standards.
 

Responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following main tasks:

Manage site EHS programs including routine risk assessments facilitating corrective measures as necessary and anticipating program needs based on relevant business conditions and EHS requirements.
Maintain and drive continuous improvement to the site EHS Program procedures and systems in accordance with local regulation and company requirements
Acting with considerable independence influence site staff activities to ensure site-wide EHS compliance and drive personal ownership and accountability for all employees.
Ensure facility EHS compliance with local National and corporate standards and guidelines.
Develop implement and maintain site-specific EHS programs including the recognition and reporting of any potential nonconformities with appropriate corrective actions.
Interact and communicate with corporate EHS Quality Engineering Manufacturing and Research & Development staff.
Develop and deliver site-specific EHS training to meet facility needs; including regulatory and best management practices.
Support proper investigations to determine root cause for all facility incidents spills accidents near misses and injuries to prevent recurrence.
Coordinate proper handling and disposal of facility waste materials.
Advise management on upcoming EHS regulations.
Implement and track EHS initiatives in site aligned with global expectations and requirements.
Maintain Local and corporate EHS reports licenses permits and performance indicators updated according to requirements.
 

Minimum Requirements:

5-8 years of experience in a similar role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment preferably in Chemical Pharmaceutical Plastic and/or Electronics Industry.
Bachelor degree or above. Technical (engineering environmental safety chemistry microbiology)  primary degree.
Experience in supporting multiple activities/projects and on working with EHS regulatory agencies and Corporate support functions.
Documented knowledge of Local & National EHS laws and regulatory framework.
Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
High ethical standards being a role model of business compliance and integrity.
Demonstrated analytical and logical problem-solving abilities.
Flexibility to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to efficiently support the business.
Fluency in written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Relevant professional certification(s) – National Certified Safety Engineer or equivalent certification desirable
Lean/Six Sigma experience desirable
Vision and sound judgment; ability to develop strategy and execute tactically-
