SSO Risk & Control Officer-Regulatory Reporting
ROLE
– Provides support in the execution of regulatory reporting processes, handling complex data preparation, validation, and documentation tasks
– Applies a strong understanding of regulatory data requirements and internal standards to perform control activities
– Performs defined control procedures and assists with pre and post-submission checks to ensure accuracy and completeness
– Contributes to issue identification and participates in root cause analysis discussions
– Supports control testing efforts and documents outcomes to assist senior staff in governance activities
– Collaborates with cross-functional partners to clarify data requirements and escalate findings
– Provides guidance to more junior staff and helps implement process enhancements
– Supports automation and continuous improvement efforts through hands-on involvement in process reviews and mentors junior team members
– In charge of the timely and accurate submission of non-financial regulatory reports covering different jurisdictions and products
– Reconciles positions to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting
– Resolves issues related to regulatory reporting and escalates more complex ones as appropriate
– Drives the implementation of new or amended regulations by taking a primary role in end-to-end testing and validation
– Identifies and suggests improvements to streamline processes, mitigate risks, and enhance process documentation
– Acts as the subject matter expert for the Regulatory reporting Automation and Process improvement projects
– Drafts Business Requirements for system or operational-related enhancements
– Liaises with partner units for exception handling and clarifications
– Maintains effective working relationships across functional teams
– Communicates operational changes arising from remediation or process/control enhancements to relevant stakeholders
– Executes pre- and post-submission controls to ensure data quality and adherence to standards
– Maintains comprehensive documentation for reporting processes and evidence of controls
REQUIREMENTS
– 0-2 years of experience in Operations, preferably in a regulatory reporting space
– Solid experience in transactional regulatory reporting and a deep understanding of operational processes
– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills with a commitment to data accuracy
– Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
– Effective communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and other data analysis tools
– Understanding of applications like Xceptor, Alteryx, and prompt development for AI tools is preferred
– Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
