ROLE
– Design wiring harnesses for Electric Vehicle, Battery and Charger applications.
– Perform cable selection based on current rating, voltage class, temperature, flexibility, and environmental conditions.
– Select appropriate crimp terminals, lugs, and connectors based on electrical, mechanical, and reliability requirements.
– Create 2D harness drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
– Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and ease of assembly.
– Validate designs through DFMEA, testing, and field feedback.
– Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of field issues.
REQUIREMENTS
– Experience in crimp terminal selection, crimping processes, and failure modes.
– Ability to think from first principles rather than relying only on catalogs or legacy designs.
– Experience with automotive or EV systems preferred.
