ROLE
– Lead the team in basic engineering and initial conceptualization of power evacuation infrastructure for solar PV plants, battery energy storage, and wind farms, including client and internal coordination.
– Create and maintain a database of costs and technical specifications for primary and secondary equipment used in renewable energy projects.
– Review EPC proposals for substations and electrical components; assist in negotiation and bid management.
– Apply knowledge of Indian grid code and, where beneficial, other country grid codes.
– Review grid impact study reports for international renewable energy projects.
– Manage interface between Advisory and Core Engineering Departments for detailed engineering projects.
– Perform basic engineering and conceptualization of inverter stations, MV transformer stations, MV switching stations, and utility metering systems.
– Develop electrical schemes and PV plant layout details, including DC cable routing, DC grouping, lightning risk assessment, lighting calculations, cable sizing, conductor selection, and auxiliary load calculations per applicable codes.
– Prepare general technical specifications, design basis reports, and memoranda.
– Review short‑circuit current and load‑flow calculations to finalize equipment ratings and sizes.
– Evaluate MV and HV equipment selection; review vendor drawings and documentation.
– Deliver projects within allocated timeframes and budgets.

REQUIREMENTS
– Good communication skills in English.
– Knowledge of power system equipment protection, relay setting calculations, and coordination studies.
– Design knowledge of SCADA architecture for solar PV plants.
– Exposure to on‑site work for solar and switchyard projects.
– Working knowledge of AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, and SketchUp.
– Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies in the renewable energy market.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to produce high‑quality technical reports within predefined deadlines.

Job Description
The principal responsibilities shall essentially include:
The position requires ability to efficiently multi-task and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, with challenging timelines. The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and ensuring on time delivery shall be crucial.
- Lead the team in basic engineering and initial conceptualization of power evacuation infrastructure for solar PV plants, battery energy storage and windfarms. This shall include client and internal co-ordination.
- Facilitate cost to benefit analysis for various types of RE projects: PV, Windfarms, BESS, hydrogen, and hybrid projects.
- Create a database of costs and technical specifications for primary and secondary equipment used in RE projects.
- Review EPC proposals for substations and electrical components and assist in negotiation and bid management.
- Through understanding of Indian grid code. Understanding of other country grid code shall be beneficial.
- Review grid impact study reports for international renewable energy projects.
- Interface management between Advisory and Core Engineering Departments in case of detailed engineering projects.
- Shall make basic electrical designs of solar plants / battery storage / windfarms, including MV system and HV (for 11kV/33kV/66kV/132kV/220kV/440kV).
- Basic engineering and conceptualisation of all the aspects of inverter stations, MV transformer stations, MV Switching stations, Utility metering systems etc.
- Develop electrical schemes and PV plant layout detailing such as DC Cable routine layouts, DC Grouping. Conducting lightning risk assessment, performing lighting calculations, cable sizing, conductor selection, auxiliary load calculation as per the national/ international code.
- Preparing general technical specifications, design basis reports, and memorandum.
- Should be able to review short circuit current, Load Flow calculation to finalize equipment ratings and sizes.
- Shall have depth knowledge of MV and HV equipment selection and review of vendor drawing and documents.
- Deliver projects within the allocated time and budget.
- Knowledge in DC & AC side engineering specifications and standards including IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc.
