GRI/SBTi, CDP, TNFD and Nature based solutions for global MNCs

My role:
I am IUCN Commission for the past 6 years and earlier I was a member for almost 12+ years. As a Commission to various thematic Commissions CCC, CEESP, CEM, WCPA SSC my role is work for projects which align Nature based solutions and industry specific standards for conservation and restoration with reference to climate change/ESG/Renewables for multiple sectoral entities. I conduct capacity building and core competencies development for professionals and practitioners in the domain of climate change and Sustainability including due diligence and transparency best practices and compliance. Recently grounding promoted as Facilitator for the Motion Working Group for facilitating amendments to various conservation barriers and to work as cohorts for driving transformative actions.

Multiple projects from relevant industries and corporates including Civil Societies, IUCN is an International NGO, the strength of it is in harnessing maximized benefits to people
and planet.

Methodology:
If the projects were assigned for best practices disclosures then as per the client requirement the tools and framework were applied through either GRI /SBTi/CDP. A company ESG strategy and double materiality including Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventory were done for some one of the reputed firms both in India and abroad (Asia, Europe, Africa) are the operating region.
Methodology included are as follows:
- Questionnaire and Requirement
- Database collection, collation and assessment
- Monitoring for benchmarking best practices including portfolio management for mitigating risk at operational and supply chain and procurement level.
- Project development for carbon projects for afforestation and reforestation for African Subcontinent Countries and registration of projects for carbon offsets.
Deliverables:
- Successfully spearheaded and led numerous conservation projects with climate change as a core priority issue to address including capacity building and outreach events, training and development with Asia, Europe, Africa as my geographical area to serve the services.
- This year in 2025, served the IUCN Motions Working Group as a facilitator and successfully facilitated the outcomes of two Motions numbers 47 and 73.
- Motion 47 with the title : Promotion of strategic and spatial planning of electric grids to minimise impacts on nature was facilitated with open ended consultation and feedback under the IUCN Motions process protocol for working group and evenly conducted over the 6 months time frame provided for decision making and amendments to be made with the decision process passed on for electronic vote or to be the agenda for negotiations for the process and procedural modalities at the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025 directly which recently concluded on 15th October 2025.
- Motions process 73 with the title: Defining a robust Nature Positive for Business framework, to mobilise corporate, civil society and government support for high-integrity nature positive contributions aligned with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the process was successfully passed for amendments. All the research and review of barriers and opportunities were developed and documented as the deliverables.
- The Commission and facilitator role derived maximized benefits from the stakeholders and the suggestions and feedback generated through open consultation are available as milestones at the IUCN website.
