Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title - EHS Officer - FTE Position Job ID: Department - EHS Sub-Department - Project EHS / Site EHS Business - Avaada Energy (Solar & Wind) Location - Maharashtra / Rajasthan / Gujarat / Madhya Pradesh/Uttar Pradesh Job Objective / Purpose To implement, monitor and drive the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) management system at the assigned solar/wind project site, with primary accountability for achieving 100% EHS training coverage of all manpower, 100% completion of scheduled mock drills, and timely, accurate EHS reporting (daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly) to Regional EHS Officer. The role acts as the site-level driver of a Zero Harm culture through consistent field presence, training delivery, digital EHS tool adoption and disciplined reporting compliance. Job Role The EHS Officer shall be responsible for day-to-day implementation of EHS requirements at the project site, working under the guidance of the Regional/Project EHS In-Charge and in close coordination with Project/Site teams. The role will drive field-level safety compliance, ensure every manpower on site is trained and inducted before deployment, ensure mock drills are conducted as per the emergency response calendar, and maintain disciplined, on-time EHS reporting and dashboard/presentation support for management review. Job Responsibility Site EHS Training • Ensure 100% EHS induction training for all new workmen, staff, and contractor manpower prior to site deployment; no worker to be mobilized on site without completing induction. • Plan and deliver toolbox talks, job-specific training (work at height, electrical safety, lifting, excavation, confined space, LOTO, PTW, etc.), refresher trainings and safety campaigns to achieve and maintain 100% trained manpower on site. • Maintain training matrix/tracker with photographic evidence, attendance records and competency verification for every individual on site; track and close training gaps to Nil pending. Mock Drills • Prepare and implement the site mock drill calendar covering all identified emergency scenarios (fire, medical emergency, working at height rescue, electrical, chemical spill, natural calamity, etc.) as per the Emergency Response Plan. • Ensure 100% completion of scheduled mock drills with full participation of site workforce, contractors and emergency response team; document learnings and close out gaps identified during drills. • Coordinate with local emergency services (fire, hospital, disaster management) as applicable and maintain emergency contact directories and mutual-aid arrangements. EHS Reporting & Presentations • Prepare and submit Daily EHS reports (manpower, activities, observations, PPE compliance, incidents/near misses, weather, permits) to site and regional management. • Prepare and submit Weekly EHS reports summarizing training status, inspection findings, non-conformities, corrective actions and KPI trends. • Prepare and submit Fortnightly EHS reports/dashboards covering leading and lagging indicators, audit closure status and mock drill status. • Prepare and submit Monthly EHS reports and management presentations covering EHS performance, training coverage %, mock drill completion %, incident statistics, CAPA status and improvement plans. • Maintain accuracy, consistency and timeliness of all reporting; ensure zero delay/default in submission timelines. EHS Tool Implementation • Drive implementation and daily usage of digital EHS platforms/apps for incident reporting, inspections, permit-to-work, training records and dashboard generation at site level. • Train site personnel and contractor supervisors on use of digital EHS tools; ensure real-time and accurate data entry by all users. • Support Regional/Corporate EHS in rollout, troubleshooting and adoption of new EHS digital tools and system upgrades. General Field EHS Responsibilities • Implement site-specific EHS plans, SOPs, HIRA, JSA, Permit-to-Work system and Legal Register requirements at site level. • Conduct daily field inspections/patrols covering work at height, electrical safety, lifting operations, excavation, hot work, housekeeping and PPE compliance; issue stop-work instructions where required. • Verify contractor EHS compliance including mobilization clearance, competency of operators/riggers, equipment fitness certificates and PPE adequacy. • Support incident/near-miss investigation, root cause analysis and CAPA tracking to closure. • Coordinate internal/external EHS audits and inspections; ensure timely closure of observations. Work Experience • 5–7 years of relevant experience in EHS/construction safety, preferably in renewable energy, power, EPC or infrastructure project construction. • Hands-on field experience in construction safety, work at height, electrical safety, lifting operations and contractor safety supervision. • Prior experience in conducting large-scale EHS training programs and mock drills preferred. • Experience with digital EHS reporting tools/apps and dashboard-based reporting preferred. • Experience in solar/wind power project construction will be an added advantage. • Willingness to be based at site and travel within the project location as required. Qualification and Certification Required 1. Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil) or equivalent - Mandatory. 2. Diploma in Industrial Safety – Mandatory. 3. NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent certification preferred. 4. First Aid and Fire Safety certification preferred. 5. Work at Height / Rescue certification preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Technology Platform • Working knowledge of EHS statutory requirements applicable to construction/renewable energy projects. • Sound understanding of HIRA, JSA, PTW, LOTO, incident investigation and emergency response procedures. • Strong training delivery skills - capable of conducting inductions, toolbox talks and job-specific trainings for large, diverse workforces. • Ability to plan, execute and document mock drills as per emergency response protocols. • Disciplined in report writing, data accuracy and adherence to reporting timelines (daily/weekly/fortnightly/monthly). • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, dashboards and management presentations. • Working knowledge of digital EHS tools/apps and willingness to drive their adoption on site. • Good communication and coordination skills with workmen, contractors, supervisors and site management. • Ability to identify unsafe acts/conditions and stop unsafe work when required.
