ROLE
– Serve as primary client contact for sustainability engineering projects, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
– Lead client presentations and workshops to communicate technical findings, recommendations and project progress
– Translate complex technical concepts into accessible insights for diverse client audiences and stakeholders
– Manage client expectations and ensure deliverables align with project objectives and timelines
– Lead and manage multiple sustainability projects simultaneously from inception to completion
– Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines and resource allocation plans
– Coordinate internal and external project teams, including junior engineers, consultants and subcontractors
– Monitor project progress, manage risks and implement corrective actions when required
– Ensure quality assurance across all project deliverables and compliance with JLL standards
– Review existing buildings from site surveys, as‑built information, energy data and research; quantify key energy performance factors
– Create detailed thermal models to define building engineering and architectural requirements for NZC
– Build complex models to system component level using advanced simulation tools
– Lead compliance assessments and modelling for LEED, local building codes and other regional sustainability certification schemes
– Analyse building engineering and fabric factors to determine opportunities to improve performance
– Align building analysis to consider regional and international building regulation requirements
– Undertake and oversee whole‑life carbon assessments, including embodied carbon, using OneClickLCA and other platforms
– Conduct embodied carbon evaluation from supplier and contractor engagement through to developing decarbonisation pathways for clients
– Prepare comprehensive technical reports, feasibility studies and recommendations for clients
– Develop clear, data‑driven presentations that communicate findings and support decision‑making
– Present data effectively using strong Excel skills and visualisation tools
– Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure knowledge transfer across the team
– Take ownership of project certification compliance and communicate with project stakeholders throughout the project until final certification
– Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and graduates
– Review and quality‑check work produced by team members
– Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning
REQUIREMENTS
– Mechanical, Sustainability, Electrical, Mechatronics, Building Services, Architectural Engineering or related Engineering degree
– 7‑10 years of progressive experience in sustainability engineering or building services
– Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering complex projects
– Accreditation from certification bodies such as LEED, WELL, etc., with a solid portfolio of delivered certified projects
– Competence in dynamic HVAC simulation tools and thermal analysis software
– Strong knowledge of regional building codes and energy‑efficiency regulations
– Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; ability to read, interpret and create technical drawings
– Expert knowledge of LEED, Fitwel and other relevant sustainability certification schemes
– Proficient in embodied carbon modelling using OneClickLCA and other platforms
– Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, manipulation and presentation
– Understanding of project lifecycle stages and associated scope emissions
– Excellent client‑facing communication and relationship management skills
– Strong project management capabilities, including budget and timeline management
– Ability to lead and motivate multi‑disciplinary teams
– Strong presentation skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders
– Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities

Role Purpose
JLL's Sustainable Asset Services support the creation of resilient real estate assets for the future. We guide our clients through the evolving landscape of sustainability to deliver their retrofit fit-out or property transaction in accordance with their ESG goals and industry-leading practice. We help clients to decarbonise their buildings protect assets from our changing climate and create better healthier places for people.
We have a diverse team of engineers and sustainability professionals which enables us to guide our clients through all sustainability requirements for projects combining NZC with equally critical sustainability criteria maximising opportunities to deliver best-in-class sustainable buildings. What This Job Involves
Client Management & Leadership

Essential Requirements
Education & Experience:
Mechanical Sustainability Electrical Mechatronics Building Services Architectural Engineering or other related Engineering Degree
7-10 years of progressive experience in sustainability engineering or building services
Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering complex projects
Accreditation of certification bodies like LEED WELL etc with a solid portfolio of delivered certified projects.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in building energy modelling software such as IES VE DesignBuilder or similar platforms
Competent in dynamic HVAC simulation tools and thermal analysis software
Strong knowledge of regional building codes and energy efficiency regulations
Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit; able to read interpret and create technical drawings
Expert knowledge of LEED Fitwel and other relevant sustainability certification schemes
Proficient in embodied carbon modelling using OneClickLCA and other platforms
Strong understanding of embodied carbon standards (ISO 14067 EN 15978 RICS WLCA)
Ability to interrogate Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and extract emissions data
Experience reading and extracting information from bills of quantity (BoQ)
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis manipulation and presentation
Understanding of project lifecycle stages and associated scope emissions
