– Lead and participate in bi‑annual planning meetings with regional stakeholders; monitor regulatory changes; support implementation of legal and business changes; manage new tax registrations and updates; report and resolve data quality issues; ensure BOM data availability and perform periodic data health checks; update and maintain Desk‑Top Procedures and coordinate sign‑off; identify process improvement or cost‑saving opportunities; maintain effective controls for tax filings.

The role

As Sustainability Taxes Lead (SCFS Europe) you will be responsible for ensuring accurate timely and compliant environmental and sustainability related tax declarations across all Europe BU markets. The role manages data collection preparation review signoff and filing of declarations in line with the approved processes and internal control framework. It also contributes to cost control ongoing process maintenance and audit readiness.

What you'll be responsible for

1. Compliance

Manage the full compliance cycle for sustainability related taxes across all Europe BU markets. Example of the taxes include (but not limited to): Green Dot SUP tax Catering Tax Chocolate and Nuts tax Sugar tax Ice Cream tax Chips tax Plastic Packaging tax).

Collect data from factories and business partners.
Extract relevant tax related data from internal systems.
Identify and follow up on missing data with responsible teams.
Prepare tax declarations according to market requirements.
Conduct analytics and trend analysis (future enhancement via Power BI dashboards).
Review and validate all declarations.
Execute sign‑off in line with internal controls.
File declarations centrally by default or locally where required.
Request and approve tax payments.
Archive all declarations and supporting documents.

2. Cost Control & Financial Support

Perform MonthEnd Closing activities for sustainability related taxes.
Support cost analytics and regular reporting.
Contribute to Standard Costing (TP) processes.
Support tax related components of NPD (New Product Development).
Participate in Annual Business Planning and Forecast cycles.

3. Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

Lead and participate in bi‑annual planning meetings with regional stakeholders.
Monitor regulatory changes impacting sustainability related taxation across Europe BU.
Support implementation of legal and business changes.
Manage new tax registrations and updates across the region.
Report and resolve data quality issues.
Ensure BOM data availability and perform periodic data health checks.
Update and maintain Desk‑Top Procedures (DTPs) and working files.
Coordinate DTP sign‑off.
Identify process improvement or cost‑saving opportunities.
Maintain effective controls to ensure accuracy of all tax filings.

4. Audit Support

Serve as point of contact for authorities across Europe BU markets.
Review and approve data packets before sharing with authorities.
Provide accurate and complete data during audits.

5.Team management: lead Sustainability Taxes group ensure full interchangeability by continuous training development and timely set up of the team.

6. Key interfaces and Collaboration:

This role collaborates closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders across Europe BU including:

Europe Finance Controllers
Tax Business Partners
Europe Tax Team
External Affairs Team
Regulatory Affairs Team
Procurement (Packaging) and Supplier Operations
R&D (Research & Development)
Europe Supply Chain Finance Team
GBS S2P (Source‑to‑Pay)
GBS OTC (Order‑to‑Cash)

These interfaces are essential for gathering data validating information ensuring compliance and implementing improvements.

We're looking for someone who

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/economics/ Tax.
5+ years in Supply Chain Finance or Sustainability reporting or Tax Compliance.
Good command of English – Read Write Converse.
Experience with environmental packaging plastics carbon or waste taxes.
Knowledge of costing supply chain and product lifecycle processes.
Advanced Excel; SAP ECC or S4H; Power BI experience.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of financial management tax accounting reporting compliance and risk management.
Data-driven and analytical mindset with the ability to handle complex data governance requirements and performance insights.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate across diverse teams.
Customer-centric professional focused on continuous improvement process discipline and emerging digital technologies.
Proven problem-solving prioritization and decision-making abilities with strong attention to detail and deadline management.
