Description
Description
Role: APQP Program Quality Engineer (Charger)
Department: New Product Development Location: Bengaluru, India Experience: 5+ Years
Your Team:
You'll be working with New Product Development — a group that runs on coffee and an infectious passion for building products that have never been built before. Our Flexible Energy Stack consists of the e^pack (battery pack) and e^pump (charging station), which unlock 15-minute rapid charging.
Our philosophy:
Break. Believe. Build.
Break stuff, break assumptions, break the thumb rule.
Believe in the team, the process, and through failures.
Build fast, build passionately, build to simplify.
Own it like you mean it.
What you’ll own:
We are seeking an APQP Program Quality Engineer to drive APQP discipline through our charger programs — ensuring every design and process quality step is genuinely validated, participating directly in RCA during builds, and collaborating on service Fault Tree Analysis documentation.
The ideal candidate is process-strong, comfortable driving a program rather than just auditing it, and wants to be in the room for RCA and builds rather than reviewing reports after the fact.
What you’ll do:
APQP Process Ownership
Own and track APQP gate readiness across charger programs (POC through SOP+)
Ensure DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and DVP steps are genuinely validated, not just filed, before gate sign-off
Flag skipped or shallow validation to the Function Lead before it compounds into a later-stage problem
Program Quality Driving
Sit embedded inside the charger program team as the process quality anchor
Track quality action items across the program timeline and drive them to closure
Coordinate quality checkpoints across design and process quality workstreams
RCA & Build Participation
Participate directly in RCA during builds — proto, pilot, and production
Apply structured RCA methodology (8D, 5-Why) alongside the Design and Process Quality Engineers
Track RCA and CAPA closure as part of overall program quality health
Service FTA Collaboration
Build and review Fault Tree Analysis documents for service diagnosis, jointly with the Design and Process Quality Engineers
Ensure FTA coverage maps to failure modes surfaced through DFMEA/PFMEA and field RCA
Keep FTA documentation living — updated as new failure modes are learned in the field
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and checksheets meet IATF 16949 documentation standards
Give program-level quality status to the Function Lead and NPQ Lead
What you’ll bring:
Education qualification
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field
1-3 years of experience in APQP or program quality engineering
Strong process discipline — comfortable driving a program's quality cadence, not just documenting it
Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, and IATF 16949 documentation requirements
Comfortable participating hands-on in RCA during builds
Preferred Experience (Good to Have):
Prior experience in charger or power electronics product programs
Exposure to Fault Tree Analysis authorship or review
Familiarity with 8D / 5-Why RCA methodology
What matters to us:
Quality of work
Structured problem-solving
Dissatisfaction with mediocre work
Ability to multi-task and handle a dynamic working environment
Resilient attitude to bounce back after failing
