ROLE
– Design rooftop solar PV systems typically ranging from 1 kWp to 100 kWp, with focus on residential and small C&I projects.
– Prepare system layouts based on available roof area, customer load, sanctioned load and energy consumption.
– Select appropriate modules, inverters, mounting structures, DC/AC cables, protections and other BOS components.
– Carry out string sizing, inverter sizing, DC/AC capacity calculations and voltage/current calculations.
– Optimize module placement considering roof geometry, orientation, tilt and shading.
– Review site survey information, photographs, measurements and electricity bills.
– Identify technical constraints such as roof structure, shadow areas, access, cable routing and electrical connection points.
– Provide technical inputs to the Sales team for customer proposals and prepare preliminary designs and generation estimates.
– Prepare accurate BOQ/BOM for project costing and procurement.
– Provide design drawings and technical documentation to the installation team and clarify design-related queries during execution.
– Support net-metering/grid-connectivity documentation and ensure designs comply with applicable DISCOM requirements, CEA regulations, MNRE guidelines and relevant electrical standards.
– Maintain design templates, drawings, calculation sheets and project records.

REQUIREMENTS
– Good understanding of rooftop solar PV systems.
– Knowledge of solar PV module and inverter selection, string configuration, DC/AC sizing and shadow analysis.
– Knowledge of cable sizing, earthing, lightning protection, AC/DC protection and rooftop mounting structures.
– Understanding of net metering and grid connectivity requirements.
– Proficiency in AutoCAD.
– Working knowledge of PVsyst or similar solar design software.
– Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
– Ability to prepare and interpret SLDs and electrical layouts.
– Experience in residential rooftop solar or small C&I rooftop projects.
– Experience with 1–100 kWp systems.
– Experience with DISCOM/net-metering documentation.
– Experience with a solar EPC company, rooftop installer, module manufacturer or inverter company.
– B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Renewable Energy or related engineering discipline

Job Description
Job Purpose
We are looking for a Solar Design Engineer who can
independently handle the design and engineering of small rooftop solar PV
systems, primarily for residential and small commercial customers. The role
will convert site information and customer requirements into practical,
cost-effective and execution-ready solar designs, while coordinating closely
with the Sales, Project and Procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities

Design rooftop solar PV systems typically

Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), layout
drawings and basic electrical schematics.
·
Carry out string sizing, inverter sizing, DC/AC
capacity calculations and voltage/current calculations.
·
